ADH vs. HSPD: Equipment Selection Guide
Choosing the right piling solution depends on your plot size, soil density (SPT values), and environmental constraints. Use our experience-based rules of thumb to find the best fit for your project.
Quick Selection Matrix
| Plot Size | Recommended Equipment | Key Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| 3 to 10 Katha | HSPD (240 Ton) or ADH | Design load, access roadways and surrounding soil conditions. |
| More than 10 Katha | HSPD (320/360 Ton) or ADH | Soil conditions, pile length and site access. |
| Larger Projects | HSPD (420/500/600 Ton) or ADH | Soil type, design load and maximum pile length requirements. |
Technical Capabilities: Soil & SPT Values
Understanding soil resistance is critical for equipment longevity and structural integrity. Below are our operational thresholds for different pile driving technologies.
HSPD Performance
Clay / Plastic Clay
Up to 40-50 SPT
Fine Sand
Up to 30 SPT
Coarse Sand
Up to 25 SPT
The ADH Advantage
For soil strata exceeding these standard SPT values or when facing highly variable underground conditions, our Automatic Diesel Hammer (ADH) is heavily recommended.
It provides the superior penetration power required to ensure piles reach their designed depth safely and effectively without compromising the equipment or foundation.
Mobilization & Access Clearances
For HSPD mobilization and operation, a minimum 4.0 m road width, adequate turning clearance at bends and 5.25 m overhead clearance shall be maintained throughout the access route.
